How do I buy a property in Bulgaria from Balkanstone
We aim to make the process as easy as possible for you – we understand you probably won’t be a Bulgarian speaker.

Firstly, your property will usually be attached to land and to own land in Bulgaria you will need to set up a Bulgarian company. Please don’t worry – this is normal practice. Foreigners cannot own land but companies can. We believe that the Bulgarian Government have done this to encourage foreign investment – if you’ve bothered to set up a company maybe you might have other business ideas to bring to Bulgaria.
If you want to buy an apartment you usually don’t have to set up a company unless land is attached to it.
We can arrange for a notary to carry this out for you. You authorise Power of Attorney and they will act on your behalf. You need to choose the name of the company, provide names of the shareholders and state what stake they own, and the registered office address (this could possibly be the address of the house). Then you sign the notary deed and the property is yours. The cost will be about £400.

We can also advise you on buildings & contents insurance.
